About "Bell Boy!"
Originally this site was a fanlisting for Keith Moon called "Behind Brown Eyes". But I realized something:
fanlistings have seriously lost popularity in the last year or so, while the fansite never really goes out of style. I
decided I'd rather dedicate a page with all things Keith then collect the names of people who like him. Somehow it just
made more sense. So in January 2007 I scrapped the whole fanlisting and started this fansite, keeping only the photo gallery I'd worked so hard
to build. I'm hoping to fill some sort of void for other Moonie fans. I kept the title as well, until the site was uploaded onto its current home. I think
"Bell Boy!" is a snappier title for a fansite; don't you?I realize I have very little competition in the way of Keith Moon fansites, but just the same, I really want this to be the best damn Moonie site on the web. I have a thousand plans for this site and very little in the way of a social life, so please please PLEASE keep coming back to see what I've done to the place. I'll probably update the site at least once every two weeks. Sometimes even more often, because I have no life whatsoever. Past Layouts
I'm not the best graphic designer/HTML'er on the net, but I do try to make this site look halfway decent. Here's all the past layouts I've used on the site (and the current one, for comparison's sake). All layouts are made with Paint Shop Pro 9, coded with Notepad, and tested for compatibility in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.
January 2007 - May 2007
The layout the site opened up with. I like the picture I used, but, I don't know. I didn't do much with it, just colorized and slapped some text on top. The navigation is nice and straightforward, which is why I reprised the style on the next layout.
May 2007
This second layout was brighter, more cheerful than the first one. My main issue with it was that the graphic was too damn
big. In an 800x600 screen setting it basically took up the whole screen. I liked the colors and the brushes an awful lot...
May 2007 - October 2007
...so I used them again. I changed the last layout after a week or so, and came up with this one.
I really dig the picture on this graphic, and the navigation is nice too. I hadn't used image maps in ages, but
it just seemed to work for this layout. I was sad to see this one go (mostly because I'm in love with that picture of Keith), but after five months it was way past its expiration date.
November 2007 - April 2008
After about a month of absence from the web, it was only right that I re-launch the site with a brand spankin' new layout. This was also the first
layout to feature the site's new title. Blue and green are my favorite colors (you can tell because I feature either one or the other in every layout I do)
and I like the use of small pictures in the header image. I really loved this layout, and it was probably my favorite so far.
April 2008 - May 2008
This is the perfect example of a transitional layout. I slapped it together because the previous layout had been up way too long; I just wanted a change. This,
however, was not a good change. I never liked the graphic, I wasn't fond of the color scheme...yuck. About the only thing I like about it is the navigation (a revival of the site's original navigation style). It wouldn't have lasted a week if I hadn't suddenly gotten busy in late April and early May.
May 2008 - ???
With summer starting up, it was obvious that the new layout needed to be bright and cheery. Several parts of this layout are recycled from the previous one: namely,
the style and positioning of the graphic, and the navigation. I absolutely love the color scheme, and the graphic isn't
half bad either. This is a layout I won't mind keeping up for three months or so (which is my plan). It's my new favorite "BB!" layout for right now, and
I hope you all enjoy it, too.
Credits & Thanks
While "Bell Boy!" is a one-woman operation, I never could have gotten the site off the ground without some assistance and support. Here's where I give
credit where it's due.
